ZEC MURPHY: THE MAN BEHIND THE COMMUNITY
Hi to all Trainzers out there
As many will have read on the forums, I'm the new Community Assistant. Actually, probably not so new now, as I started in May... Some may have seen me on the forums under my normal alias of S301, showing off my various creations for Trainz. Of course, I will still continue doing this in my spare time. However, I am also now working on the helpdesk providing assistance to any users who come to grief, as well as doing all download station approvals and providing assistance in the #Trainz room and on the forums where ever possible.
For those who don't know me, my name is Zec Murphy. I hail from the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, Australia. I'm currently a volunteer at the Puffing Billy Railway, which is based in Belgrave nearby, helping mainly in their (currently closed) museum. I've had a strong interest in Trains, which has probably been helped by the fact that I've lived near rail lines all of my life. I'm also an active railway modeler, modeling a Victorian Railways prototype (mainly 1920s-1960s, with some modern Aus as well as some UK and US) in HO scale, and am also part of the Yarra Valley Model Railway Club. For those who wish to see more of my stuff, or learn more about me, feel free to take a look at my website: http://zecrail.victrainz.com.au
I would also like to say thank you to the Trainz community for their welcome when I started as the community assistant.
Thank you! I hope to see you all around on the forums.
Zec

TUTORIAL CORNER: CONSISTS
In Service Pack 2, we introduced a number of new features into TS2009. Today, we wish to explain how to use the new Consists functions.
First of all, what is a consist? In railway terms, this is one or more railway vehicles on the track. For example, a consist may be made up of a locomotive followed by 4 or 5 passenger carriages and then a ‘guards van’/‘caboose’, or it may be just a line of five wagons coupled together sitting on a siding out in a yard, or even just a single ‘light engine’. In Trainz, this means much the same thing. One or more vehicles ‘consisted’ together.
The new consist system is essentially the same as previous versions of Trainz, in terms of making use of it.
